Amy Kosterlitz, JD, PCC

Leadership and Career Coach, Consultant and Facilitator

I am an experienced, credentialed master coach who helps professionals strengthen their leadership, advance their careers, and find greater fulfillment. I help clients align their work and lives with their values, clarify and achieve their goals, and improve targeted skills. Testimonials highlight my ability to create warm, trusting relationships and support individuals in many different careers as they navigate change and professional growth. Client feedback also reflects my success working with organizations to build effective teams and positive team cultures.

I launched my coaching practice in 2010 and have since helped numerous clients make significant professional changes. I hold a Coaching Certification (2010) and Master Coach Certification (2016) from the Hudson Institute of Coaching. I am accredited as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the International Coaching Federation, which requires ongoing professional education. I also supervise other coaches, drawing on my diploma from the Coach Supervision Academy. My expertise is featured in published articles on a range of coaching topics and in an acclaimed leadership book I co-authored, Fearless Feedback: A Guide for Coaching Leaders to See Themselves More Clearly and Galvanize Growth.

I came to coaching after a successful 30-year career as an attorney and partner at a small, highly respected law firm. I bring the perspective of decades of professional experience to my coaching, consulting, and facilitation work. In my legal career I collaborated with colleagues to build, lead, and manage a law firm; advised and represented corporations and public agencies in complex legal matters; resolved high-profile disputes; trained and mentored emerging professionals; and led multidisciplinary teams through complex endeavors.

My transition to a coaching career was spurred by a desire to help people develop greater agency, thrive in meaningful careers, and support organizations in flourishing. Through specialized coach training and my subsequent years of coaching and consulting experience, I have developed strong listening and creative brainstorming skills and built a portfolio of tools and resources to help clients gain insight and create new possibilities.

A hallmark of my coaching is empathy for professionals navigating demanding careers, informed by my own experience building confidence, leadership capacity, and conflict-management skills. As a working mother and spouse, I understand the challenges of work-life balance. I have also made a significant midlife career transition and understand the courage and commitment required to deepen self-awareness, explore new opportunities, and embrace a new direction.

As a trusted advisor to diverse organizations, I have observed the attributes of successful leadership and high-functioning workplaces. I work with clients to develop strategies that inspire excellence and promote constructive communication. Through service on nonprofit boards and public taskforces, I gained firsthand experience with the challenges they face. Through coaching leaders in nonprofits, foundations, and the public sector, I have deepened my understanding of their unique needs.

My coach supervision training allows me to support other coaches to reflect on their practices, navigate difficult situations, explore creative approaches and find resources. My supervision training and practice has also enhanced my coaching and consulting work.
